So I'm surfing YouTube... and I come accross this...
My older brother and I use to play a game when we were kids... we had a blue sleeping bag... one of us would pull the bag over our head and try and chase down the other one... sort of a twist on "marco polo" without the pool... I remember lamps getting broken...

Just got home from Buffalo and have to get all unpacked and run a couple errands before work at 15:00 but just had to take a second to post about Buffalo Bear Trap. The Buffalo Bears know how to put on a run. I had a great time, from the meet and greet on Friday until the last dance at the Century Grill. My good friend Sam and I had a blast running around downtown Buffalo on Saturday afternoon with 2 other teams in the scavenger hunt. This pic was one of the items on our list of things to do...

will post more and try to catch up on the last month, but just wanted to give the Buffalo bears their props...You guys rock!!!

WTF?? There was a drive by shooting this afternoon. It happened one block away from my house. It's not the first one this year and I'm sure it won't be the last. What's really crazy is that I really don't feel any difference, as far as my personal safety is concerned, than I did this morning. I'm betting that it was gang related. My tenant's parents are here visiting her for the weekend. I hope they don't freak out too bad. I've lived in this neighborhood practically my entire life. I've seen lots of changes but I feel like it is just as safe as much of the rest of the city. Here's the story...

Stalling...stalling...stalling...been watching "the Starter Wife" marathon all afternoon while playing New Super Mario Bros. on the DS Lite, and watching You Tube video. Keyword searches...
NSMB game cheats...
checked out Tommy's Vlog...
and somehow ended up here...(I didn't know wheather to laugh or cry!
Watching Serena Williams beat Sugiyama at the U.S. Open. (1st Set).
Now it's time to stop stalling...and get the bedroom walls finished. I have decided that I am done with the drywall mud. I have applied and sanded three coats to the walls, along the baseboard area and around the window and door frames where the plaster crumbled off the lathe when I was removing the paint from the gum wood. So all that is left for the walls is a final sanding, then I can get the primer up and finally the color. Will post some pics. soon...

I would have loved to see Hillary as our candidate before Barack, but it did not pan out that way. I voted for her as my senator and I would have voted for her as my president. I know very little about Barack, but Hillary is now asking me to support him. There is no way in Hell I would ever vote for McSame even with his surprising choice for a running mate. I am SO ready to have a member of a minority as the American President just so we can get over the issue and get on with getting a gay president. I seriously doubt that will happen in my lifetime but you never can tell. It only took the Democrats 45 years after Martin Luther King Jr. said "I Have A Dream" to nominate a minority candidate for President. (yes , I remember Geraldine Ferraro was Mondale's running mate in 1984, and that it went so well that it took them 24 years to try something different again.)
Anyway, I'm not thrilled with voting for someone who does not support equal rights for the LGBT community, but I can only hope for the future now... doesn't it seem like a good time for a Million Homo march on Washington??

When I get home from work I turn on the idiot box and catch up on the antics of the players of Big Brother 10 on Showtime. During the commercial beraks they run promos for thier other shows. The one for the new season of Dexter has been using the song "Secret" by The Pierces. It's been haunting me all week...

So I haven't taken this game out of the player since I bought it 2 months ago.http://mario.nintendo.com/ it's driving me crazy , but I am SLOWLY making progress. Major achievement this morning...opened the warp to world 7. I play a bit when I wake up, and while sitting on the toilet...I play during my lunch hour at work because it helps me with my diet ( I eat when I'm stressed or bored, so it's a great distraction). I'll play at home and in bed before I put the c-pap mask on for the night. World 7 and 8 are all that's left and I can't wait to get them done so I can read a book or exercise or do something worth while like finishing the bedroom remodel...

So it's back to work this afternoon. Had a great week off from the daily grind. I did not get nearly as much done with my bedroom remodel as I had planned but I enjoyed every day and don't feel like I wasted time like I have in previous vacations.
Things that I did accomplish for the remodel ... All the cutting in for the primer and most of the wall repair (plaster and lathe suck!)...and I brought the special order cabinets home and up the stairs(three large boxes taking up residence in the dining room... gotta finish this before Andrew goes crazy and slashes my throat while I sleep!)
I helped my ex move to Buffalo from Rochester on the first weekend of vacation. He landed a great job and a great apartment and a great new boyfriend... I am hoping that he can hold on to all three... luv ya E... Mean it! What I am most excited about this is that his apartment building is about two blocks from Frank Lloyd Wright's Martin House. I can't wait to take a tour.
I spent the last three days and nights of vacation at Hillside http://www.hillsidecampgrounds.com/ with an old acquaintance that became a new friend. Rick, your hospitality is greatly appreciated and I hope to see you again sooner than later. Thank you for introducing me to your friends Scott, Ricky, David, Billy, and Frank. I had a blast hanging out with you all. It's been three years since my last visit to Hillside (with Marty K.) and had forgotten how comfortable I am there... not counting the panic attack at the campfire. Speaking of panic attacks, I also ran into Paul. I actually managed to have a conversation with him without sticking both feet into my mouth. I don't know what it is about him that turns me into a bloody idiot, but he does. The weather was perfect. No rain at all the entire weekend. The Grand National made the trip up and back with no problems... I forgot to put on the sun block and got a bit of a sunburn on the way home with the T-tops off.
And finally, spent the last few free hours before work today with my friend Sam who is 34 today. Happy Birthday Sam! I took him to lunch at the Red Robin. We requested the very bearish waiter to accompany our waitress singing Happy Birthday.
So vacation is over and I will have to say that I am rested and ready to go back to work. I hope I won't have too much reorganizing to do. Next big weekend planned is Buffalo Bear Trap in October. WOOF!

I really like this video. I can empathize with this dude...been there, felt that. Plus, the walking, singing heart reminds me of the jumping heart from the movie "Airplane!".

Midtown Plaza closed last Friday. It is being torn down to make way for the glorious new Rochester,NY World Headquarters of the Paetec Company.I remember it with mixed emotions...
Christmas in Rochester was not complete without a trip to Midtown in the early 70's when I was a child. If you have ever watched "A Christmas Story" then you can picture the setup for the Santa Clause Mountian at Midtown. You would wait in this long line that switch backed up to Santa on his Throne. Santa asked what you wanted for Christmas. The "elves" would take your picture and send you on your way... So we didn't have a slide like Ralphie... But we did have a Monorail! It was like getting a carnival ride in the middle of winter. It was fun to ride in the tiny cars dangling from the rail...It was Magical...
I remember watching, from the second level balcony, my older brother perform a dance with his class, to the song "Downtown" by Petula Clark, in the middle of the mall floor next to The Clock of Nations.
I spent many hours of my teenage years hanging out(skipping school) inside the mall shopping at Record Theater, Radio Shack, The Source, Foot Locker, etc. and walking the Sky Way down to the South Ave. garage to get to Don's Arcade...
When I was in my early twenties, I worked for Sunny Vending Co. and 95% of my entire account route was inside the Inner Loop. Midtown tower was home to three of my accounts(including the Trailways bus station). Getting good parking in the delivery entrance was a royal pain in the ass...and I vaguely remember the freight elevator kind of sucked...Worked that job for 5 years...
So I suggest to anyone who wants Rochester's downtown to improve and prosper... Be sad for the passing of a national landmark(it was the first indoor mall in the country), but be glad for the new business and image that this project will bring to our city. If only we could get an IKEA downtown...we could be a Real Destination point.
p.s. The Clock of Nations is going to be saved... It is going to be on display at the Greater Rochester International Airport untill it can be brought to The Gallisano Childrens Hospital. I think that the Strong National Museum of Play would have also been a good permanent home for it, but the hospital is a great choice too.
